Urgent need for relevant systems for urban and spatial planning appears in the growing phase of urbanization and industrialization. Nowadays there are many techniques that can be used for the urban and spatial planning but the most accurate and the best quality cost ratio is LiDAR scanning in combination with the aerial photography. The LiDAR technology and the digital orthophoto provide detailed 3D image of a relevant surface in detail to engineers and town planners. This technology is successfully applied both in urban and rural areas. High detail 3D city models are useful in many applications including:
